Crew Worker - GICC

About the role

The position involves independently performing recurring work in accordance with established policies, procedures, and practices. It requires the candidate to handle various tasks such as setting up, tearing down, and cleaning the Georgia International Convention Center.

Responsibilities

• Set up, tear down, and clean the Georgia International Convention Center on assigned shifts.
• Respond to emergency requests for service.
• Operate various equipment including forklifts, power sweepers, electric carts, City trucks and cars, and hand and power tools.
• Ensure all requested items on BEO are in the proper place promptly.
• Inspect the building daily for maintenance needs and correct problems as necessary.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Knowledge of event setups and tear downs.
• Knowledge of tools, equipment, and supplies used in comprehensive setup, tear down, and cleaning services.
• Ability to work shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions.
• Ability to perform routine, repetitive tasks continuously.
• Ability to work independently and maintain a clean and orderly area.
• Ability to exert continuous physical effort including frequent bending, walking, manipulating, and heavy lifting.
• Ability to work flexible hours including weekdays and weekends.
• Ability to maintain effective working relationships with others.
• Ability to type or use a personal computer with word processing and related software.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Experience in communicating with diverse communities and establishing cooperative working relationships.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
• Extensive hours and weekends may be required.
