Crew Leader - 2nd Shift Plastics

Responsibilities

• Inspect cleanouts to ensure standards are met.
• Give breaks on lines as needed, including working on plans to minimize the need for crew leaders to give breaks.
• Help the Supervisor with quality problems, conducting effective 5 Whys root cause investigations.
• Handle maintenance issues and develop plans for quick restarts.
• Fill in for the Supervisor when absent.
• Blender Crewleader responsibilities:
  • Pump resin from rail cars into resin silos (only 2nd and 3rd shifts).
  • Fill in for Unit Operators when absent and unable to get someone to come in early.
  • Develop plans for using the team to cover more than one line during blender loading.
• Contribute to housekeeping efforts, ensuring all 5S standards are met.
• Plan and lead discussions in huddle meetings.
• Daily conduct quality and safety walkthroughs and provide immediate directions to the team.
• Stay updated on the online status and operator activities and assignments.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED, or two years minimum work experience at Haywood Company.
• A valid drivers license.

Skill/Educational Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Two years minimum work experience at Haywood Company.

Essential Physical Requirements

• Ability to climb stairs.
