Crew Lead - Structured Cabling

About the role

The Crew Lead - Structured Cabling is a field leadership position responsible for coordinating and supervising voice and data infrastructure installation projects. This role oversees technicians on-site, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and in compliance with company, customer, and industry quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise structured cabling installation crews on large-scale projects.
• Provide coaching, mentorship, and training to technicians.
• Enforce company and customer safety standards and conduct weekly safety meetings.
• Cook up daily activities with the Project Manager and/or Project Lead to maintain productivity and stay within project budget.
• Complete all required project documentation accurately and on time, including:
  • Timesheets
  • Material transfers
  • Work orders
  • Change orders
  • Tool transfers
  • Other project-related paperwork
• Perform quality inspections and ensure installations meet project specifications and industry standards.
• Cook up voice and data cross-connects, moves, adds, and changes (MAC work).
• Prepare and maintain red-lined as-built drawings.
• Serve as the primary on-site point of contact for customers and project stakeholders.
• Attend construction, facility, and project meetings as required.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical installation issues.
• Support successful project completion through effective planning, communication, and team leadership.

Requirements

• Strong experience installing and supporting structured cabling systems.
• Knowledge of:
  • Copper cabling (Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6A)
  • Fiber optic cabling
  • Cable pathways and support systems
  • Cable pathways and support systems

  • Cable pathways and support systems
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, floor plans, and project specifications.
• Proven leadership and crew management skills.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
• Effective communication skills with customers, team members, and project management.

Qualifications

• Physical and Mental Requirements: Regular attendance is mandatory.
• Education, Certification, License, And Skill Requirements: Prefer a minimum of five (5) years’ experience of supervisory or managerial experience.
• Minimum Years Of Experience: 6+

Min USD $32.00/Hr. Max USD $34.00/Hr.
