Crew Lead - Infrastructure

Job Duties And Responsibilities

  • Runs major project crews; assumes responsibility for effective performance and provides necessary training.
  • Assumes responsibility for adherence to Company and customer safety and quality guidelines and holds weekly safety meetings.
  • Initiates performance-related communications and escalates to Project Manager if necessary.
  • Collaborates with Project Manager to ensure productivity, job completion, and compliance with project budget.
  • Completes all IES COMMERCIAL and project paperwork accurately and on time (timesheets, material transfers, work orders, change orders, tool transfers, and others as required).
  • Performs quality checks and prepares red-lined as-built drawings.
  • Serves as the main on-site customer contact for questions and/or concerns; attends facility and construction meetings when required.
  • Demonstrates a detailed level of technical knowledge; troubleshoots and resolves technical issues as they arise.
  • Completes other responsibilities as assigned.

    • Possesses proven problem-solving and critical thinking skills, and the ability to read, write, and give oral presentations.
    • Able to work at heights, off ladders, and in confined spaces, lift up to 50 pounds, and move up to 75 pounds.
    • Able to see and distinguish different colors, read small print, hear and recognize audible signals such as dial tones.
    • Able to travel within the branch territory and/or regional territory as needed.
    • Must meet Company minimum driving standards.
    • Must possess at least a High School diploma or GED equivalency.
    • At least three (3) years of experience as an electrician or related technical field.
    • Minimum six (6) months supervisory and/or managerial experience.
    • Proficient with the tools listed above.
    • Skilled in interpreting blueprints and other project documents, including specifications, reporting, and quality requirements.
    • Knowledge of universal communications color codes.
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and MS Project).
    • Meets Company minimum driving standards.

    Tools

    • Screwdriver (regular and Phillips), drywall saw, torpedo level, tape measure, snips (with belt sheath), pliers (needle nose and channel locks), hammer, cable stripper, flashlight and gloves.
    • Punch tool with 110 block and 66 block blade, 6/8 position combo crimp tool, Krone/3M/BIX, butt set, volt-ohmmeter, 4-pair continuity tester and 5-gang punch tool.

    Education, Certification, License, And Skill Requirements

    • High School diploma or GED equivalency.
    • Three (3) years of experience as an electrician or related technical field.
    • Minimum six (6) months supervisory and/or managerial experience.
    • Proficiency with the listed tools.
    • Ability to interpret blueprints and other project documents, including specifications, reporting, and quality requirements.
    • Knowledge of universal communications color codes.
