Crew Chief, Managed Aircraft

As a Crew Chief with Vista America, you will play a critical role in ensuring the serviceability, reliability, and availability of aircraft. You will work directly with the Maintenance Control Center (MCC), Procurement, Technical Services, and Planning Teams to minimize aircraft downtimes, rectify unscheduled maintenance quickly, and ensure high satisfaction for flight crews and aircraft owners. This position involves a combination of Part 91/135 flying on managed aircraft.

Responsibilities

• Ensure high standards of aircraft availability and reliability.
• Work closely with assigned flight crews to address and communicate issues in a timely manner.
• Liaise with Base and Line Maintenance Planners for effective long- and short-range forecasting of scheduled and discretionary maintenance events.
• Provide critical feedback to optimize scheduling of aircraft downtimes for maximum availability while ensuring timely maintenance.
• Collaborate with MCC Controllers, Planners, and maintenance service providers to achieve efficient aircraft downtimes.
• Perform and/or oversee scheduled and unscheduled maintenance to ensure the timely and safe return of aircraft to service.
• Participate in periodic reviews of scheduled maintenance events with the Planning Team to align with approved maintenance programs and operational demands.
• Resolve unscheduled maintenance events quickly with MCC Controllers and schedule line maintenance, including rectification of MEL items.
• Ensure maintenance tracking software is up-to-date and accurate, providing feedback to the Director of Managed Aircraft.
• Review work packages for completeness and efficient use of aircraft downtime.
• Ensure timely compliance with fleet campaigns, Airworthiness Directives, and mandatory Service Bulletins.
• Review Long-Range Planners’ analysis of supplier proposals and provide recommendations to the Director of Managed Aircraft.
• Provide critical feedback to the Technical Services Team on the effectiveness of maintenance programs and reliability efforts.
• Collaborate with the Director of Managed Aircraft to develop more efficient and effective processes.
• Coach and mentor less-experienced Crew Chiefs and supporting team members.

Qualifications

• Holder of an FAA A&P certificate with a minimum of 5 years’ experience.
• Minimum of 3 years of leading maintenance teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Holder of an FAA A&P certificate with AI approval and a minimum of 8 years’ experience.
• Successful completion of aircraft type training for assigned aircraft type.
• 5+ years of leading maintenance teams.
