What You Will Do
The Painting group is responsible for the preparation and painting of Commercial Aircraft types. The Lead shall be responsible to your Supervisor / Manager for the overall operation of his/her crew. The Leads duties shall be assigned / reassigned by your Supervisor/Manager.
- Provide on-the-job training and technical assistance to personnel in your crew.
- Evaluate the performance of personnel on his/her crew and make recommendations as necessary to your supervisor.
- Perform only that work authorized by his/her supervisor and ensure that the work is performed to the standards of good workmanship required by ST Aerospace Mobile, Inc.
- Ensure that all tools and equipment used by his/her crew are kept in serviceable condition and stored in an orderly manner.
- Recommend to your supervisor any requirements or improvements for your crew.
- Exercise control over stock checked out of Stockroom by employees on your crew.
- Complete your crew timecards and approve all hours worked.
- Report to your supervisor, with recommendations, any personnel problems that cannot be resolved satisfactorily within the crew.
- Recommend disciplinary action within your crew.
- Assist your supervisor as requested in the evaluation of non-routine work cards for parts, manhours and span time, and indicate corrective action.
- Maintain continuous oversight of work progress.
- Keep your supervisor always apprised of the status, particularly on jobs that are off schedule.
- Aid in the preparation of the shift status and change-over reports.
- Perform any work that may be assigned by your supervisor.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
- Good working knowledge of all appropriate skill levels, through understanding of all FAR’s and company policies and procedures, through knowledge of all aircraft manuals and related materials.
- Knowledge of ATA codes, knowledge of all paperwork procedures including job cards/timecards, routine/non-routine cards, S.R.M’s, service bulletins, and work sign-off/sell-off procedures.
Supervision
- Under direction. Normally performs duties according to his or her own judgment, requesting supervisory assistance only when necessary.
Interpersonal Environment
- A moderate level of interpersonal skills is required to maintain an effective relationship with co-workers and supervision.
Physical Environment
- Requires easy mobility around various sections of aircraft and the dexterity to operate spray equipment efficiently and in a timely manner.
- Requires the ability to wear a respirator without restrictions due to exposure to fumes.
- Must be able to pass physical exam, including pulmonary function test.
- Requires mental skills and quickness with the ability to cope with stress and intense effort or exertion usually caused by long working hours.
- Must have the capacity to gain knowledge by hearing about one’s own safety due to the dangers involved.
- Working environment requires standing 90% of the workday on hard surfaces and man lifts.
- Must be able to lift 50lbs.
- Report to work regularly.
What You Need
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Airframe license and/or Repairman Certificate.
- 5 years minimum of aircraft painting or related structures.
