About the Role
We are seeking skilled and reliable team members to join our concrete construction operations. Our company provides concrete paving and flatwork construction, demolition, and excavation services across a wide range of projects including sidewalks, curbs, gutters, culverts, driveways, stairs, slabs, repairs, excavating, grading, finishing, footings, concrete breaking and cutting, sawing, and site preparation.
Responsibilities
- Perform concrete paving and flatwork installation for various structures including sidewalks, curbs, gutters, culverts, driveways, stairs, and slabs
- Conduct demolition, excavation, and site preparation activities
- Execute concrete repairs, cutting, sawing, and breaking operations
- Complete grading and finishing work to specifications
- Build and set footings and forms
- Operate hand tools and power equipment safely and efficiently
- Read and interpret project plans and instructions
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work site
Requirements
- Previous experience in concrete construction, flatwork, or related trade
- Knowledge of concrete mixing, pouring, finishing, and curing techniques
- Ability to operate concrete saws, breakers, excavators, and other construction equipment
- Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy materials, stand, bend, and work in outdoor conditions
- Reliable transportation to job sites
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to follow safety protocols and use personal protective equipment
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Certification in concrete finishing or related field is a plus
- OSHA 10 or 30 certification preferred
- Experience with laser screed or power trowel equipment desirable
Skills
- Proficiency in concrete finishing techniques (floating, troweling, edging, jointing)
- Strong understanding of grade elevations and slope requirements
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Basic math skills for measuring and calculating material quantities
- Communication and coordination skills with supervisors and other trades
