About the role

Ferguson, a Fortune 500 value‑added distributor with approximately 36,000 associates across 1,700 locations, is seeking an early‑career professional to join the Credit team as a Credit Trainee. The 8–12 month program provides hands‑on experience in the credit business, including time in the warehouse, on the sales counter, riding with delivery drivers, shadowing operations, and meeting customers.

Program details

The Credit Trainee program is designed to accelerate your career in credit through mentoring, coaching, and on‑the‑job learning. Core competencies taught include:

• Financial statement analysis

Qualifications

• 0–3 years work experience post‑bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience in lieu of a degree
• Ability and desire to work in a fast‑paced, customer‑service‑driven environment
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills (face‑to‑face, phone, and group presentations)
• High emotional intelligence and people‑skills for building relationships
• Willingness to learn and contribute as part of a team

Career path

Upon successful completion of the program, you will have an entry‑level working knowledge of extending trade credit and building customer relationships. The goal is to progress to a Credit Manager role, where you will own a portfolio of accounts with millions in receivables, manage credit extensions, collect A/R, and grow business. High performers may advance to Area Credit Manager with increased responsibilities and people‑management opportunities.

Location & relocation

The initial training location is Euless, TX for the first 8–12 months. After training, you must be open to relocating to a new region within the United States. Ferguson will provide a relocation allowance and can consider your preferred region.

Pay

Hourly wage range: $22.60 – $33.89. This role is eligible for bonus or incentive plans. Starting wage may be higher in certain locations based on local or state wage requirements.
