About the role
The Structured Credit Adviser position is a hybrid role based in either New York or Houston, requiring 3 days per week in-office presence. This role is part of Marsh's Political Risk and Structured Credit team, driving innovative financial risk transfer solutions for clients globally.
Responsibilities
- Drive growth in the bank client portfolio within the Political Risk and Structured Credit Practice.
- Act as the lead advisory colleague on medium-sized accounts or moderately complex accounts, focusing on banks and their regulatory regimes.
- Cultivate a deep understanding of clients' strategic priorities, risk strategies, and risk management needs to provide tailored advice.
- Utilize extensive risk expertise and knowledge of the industry and insurance marketplace to review clients' exposures and develop solutions for complex needs, including cross-selling additional products and services.
- Present, develop, and execute renewal/placement strategies in collaboration with Placement, Advisory Leaders, and Client Executives.
- Receive, negotiate, and evaluate political risk & structured credit quotes from carriers and present evaluations to clients.
- Lead presentations to prospective clients, identify new product needs, and develop innovative solutions to secure new clients and projects.
- Build and maintain relationships with clients, serving as the primary point of contact for complex client needs.
- Coordinate the production of client deliverables, ensuring the quality of materials delivered to clients.
- Administer electronic data and file storage, distribute documentation to clients, and review contracts; draft and amend insurance policies as necessary.
- Conduct meetings with clients and internal colleagues to discuss exposures and solutions.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a financial field such as economics and/or mathematics; master’s degree level preferred.
- 10+ years of experience working in finance, banking, insurance, origination, distribution, broking, or underwriting.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage projects/processes from start to finish.
- Superior detail orientation, excellent communication, interpersonal, and time management skills.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
- P&C license mandatory, or ability to obtain one.

- Understanding clients' needs, identifying risks, and structuring solutions.
- Gathering and analyzing relevant financial data, as well as third-party and commodity price data.
- Developing material for client presentations, internal and external sales efforts, and colleague training.
- Conducting meetings with clients and internal colleagues to discuss exposures and solutions.
- Administering electronic data and file storage, distributing documentation to clients, and reviewing contracts; drafting and amending insurance policies as appropriate.

Pay
The base salary range for this role is $154,200 to $328,400, with decisions made on a case-by-case basis. Performance-based incentives may also be available.
