About the role
The Credit Products Underwriter III (CPU III) is primarily responsible for underwriting more complex financial transactions, including the financing of multiple business endeavors such as: investment real estate, owner-occupied real estate, working capital, equipment, LBOs/acquisitions, healthcare-related opportunities, etc. The CPU III provides product and industry expertise to clients by designing and executing solutions for complex and specialized transactions. This role includes client-facing responsibilities, offering consultation to deliver integrated solutions. The majority of time will be balanced between client analysis, deal design and execution, and joint client calls with Relationship Managers (RMs) to provide expert counsel. The CPU III partners with RMs to assist in generating revenue and profitability.
Responsibilities
- Prepare complex financial underwriting on middle market to corporate level transactions with significant impact on lending division profits, including Syndicated or Club transactions.
- Recommend final structure and pricing to the Relationship Manager and Credit Concurrence Officer; assume responsibility for all exceptions.
- Write all commitment reports for specified loans and participate in loan committee presentations to support analysis conclusions.
- Participate in joint calling on prospects and clients with Relationship Managers to develop relationships and assist in new business development.
- Mentor and coach junior underwriters and interns, managing workflow for analysis, covenant compliance testing, and financial statement spreading.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree and 8+ years of Credit Analysis/Credit Products Underwriter experience; or 14+ years of equivalent work-related experience.
