About the role
The Credit Products Underwriter II - Commercial is primarily responsible for underwriting complex financial transactions, including the financing of investment real estate, owner-occupied real estate, working capital, equipment, and LBOs/acquisitions, healthcare-related opportunities as well as credits augmented with an SBA guarantee. In addition, the CPU II provides product and industry expertise to clients by designing and executing solutions for complex transactions. A high volume (50%+) of credit requests are from prospects, requiring an additional level of due diligence and analysis.
The CPU II will manage multiple active credit requests from various Relationship Managers across different geographic locations, requiring strong prioritization and time management. Client-facing responsibilities include providing consultation to deliver integrated solutions. Effective communication (written and verbal) is essential for collaborating with Relationship Managers and other BOKF personnel.
Responsibilities
- Independently prepare complex credit analysis on commercial transactions impacting profits for the lending division, including complex requests of varying sizes.
- Interact with credit approval officers, credit risk managers, and credit concurrence officers; participate in loan presentations to support conclusions reached in analysis.
- Serve as an accomplished resource regarding credit and industry analysis.
- Participate in joint calls with Relationship Managers to gather key information for credit analysis and craft core and complex business deals for clients.
- Write all commitment reports for specified loans and present salient credit information to the line of business and credit approvers.
- Ensure Relationship Managers are aware of non-compliance issues and prepare quarterly covenant compliance testing.
- Partner with Relationship Managers to assist in generating revenue and profitability.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree and 5-7 years of credit analysis or credit products underwriter experience; or 13-15 years of equivalent work-related experience.
- Ability to underwrite complex financial transactions, including investment real estate, owner-occupied real estate, working capital, equipment, LBOs/acquisitions, healthcare-related opportunities, and SBA-guaranteed credits.
- Strong time management and prioritization skills to handle multiple active credit requests from various Relationship Managers and geographic locations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for client-facing responsibilities and collaboration with internal teams.
