Credit Portfolio Manager

Responsibilities

• Manages credit risk for a portfolio of commercial credit clients and monitors loan performance to ensure loan quality adheres to guidelines.
• Supports Relationship Managers through financial and credit analysis.
• Researches and analyzes pertinent financial statements, evaluating a company’s financial risk, business risk, and overall creditworthiness.
• Prepares written credit memoranda for credit committee approval; presents verbally at credit committee when required.
• Collects client-prepared information and completes client financial statement spreadsheets and projections of a company’s financial condition.
• Evaluates financial and nonfinancial covenants for credit facilities and monitors covenant compliance.
• Reviews legal documentation and provides periodic updates of company credit quality to Credit Policy.
• Monitors client loan portfolios on an ongoing basis to ensure loan quality adheres to guidelines.
• Conducts due diligence through company lender meetings and/or discussion with relationship managers.
• Travels to client locations as required (minimal travel expected).

Requirements

• Knowledge of finance and accounting, typically acquired through formal education or experience, to analyze and evaluate financial statements.
• Analytical and communication skills to determine credit risk and prepare credit presentations.
• Proficiency with personal computers to prepare Excel financial spreadsheets and Word documents.
• 1-5 years of experience in credit or financial analysis on companies.
• Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for employment-based visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Pay

Salary range is $67,500 - $111,500 USD (good faith estimate of base pay). Northern Trust provides a discretionary bonus program that may include an equity component.
