Credit Marketing & Communications – Marketing Automation & Analytics, Assistant Vice President – New York
We are looking for a seasoned marketing automation and analytics professional to join the Credit Marketing & Communications team in New York as an Assistant Vice President. This senior individual contributor role focuses on driving marketing automation, audience segmentation, reporting, and data management initiatives to improve marketing effectiveness and efficiency.

You will own the platforms, data, and reporting frameworks that enable the broader marketing team. This role offers the opportunity to drive operational excellence and make a meaningful impact on one of Morningstar's largest and fastest-growing business units.
Responsibilities
- Marketing Automation
- Define the martech vision, strategy, and roadmap for the global Credit business
- Own the end-to-end management of marketing technology platforms, driving platform strategy, integrations, governance, and expert-level administration and support
- Serve as the primary administrator for marketing automation platforms, managing system configuration, access controls, platform enhancements, and vendor relationships
- Design, implement, and optimize marketing automation programs, campaign templates, lead scoring models, audience journeys, and lifecycle frameworks
- Support the marketing team in executing efficient and effective campaigns through marketing technology platforms
- Stay current on marketing automation, data management, analytics, and martech best practices, identifying opportunities to enhance capabilities, efficiency, and performance
- Marketing Data Management
- Own the marketing data architecture across marketing platforms, including campaign tracking, source attribution, taxonomy, and marketing system integrations, ensuring data frameworks support business objectives, reporting needs, and future scalability
- Maintain an up-to-date marketing audience database with high levels of data quality, integrity, and standardization, including establishing governance processes and ensuring compliance with applicable privacy regulations
- Oversee audience segmentation strategy and governance across platforms to ensure consistency, relevance, and compliance
- Marketing Analytics & Reporting
- Define, maintain, and evolve marketing measurement frameworks, KPIs, and attribution methodologies to assess marketing effectiveness and business impact
- Analyze the marketing database and generate actionable audience insights for marketing campaigns
- Analyze marketing funnel performance, campaign effectiveness, and audience behavior to identify optimization opportunities and provide actionable recommendations
- Integrate marketing performance data from multiple sources and develop centralized marketing performance and executive dashboards with clear and compelling visualizations
- Partner with marketing stakeholders to deliver insights that inform strategy, investment decisions, and continuous performance improvement
- Champion a culture of data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement by providing insights, recommendations, and thought leadership across the marketing organization
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree
- 8+ years of experience in marketing automation architecture
- Deep hands-on expertise in marketing platform (Pardot, HubSpot, or related) administration, configuration, and integration with Salesforce and supporting technologies
- Strong understanding of lead management, routing, and scoring processes
- Experience with marketing intelligence and visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, Looker, etc.)
- Ability to successfully manage multiple projects simultaneously, communicating effectively with stakeholders and prioritizing to deliver high-quality work within deadline
- Ability to collaborate effectively with other team members as well as work independently and autonomously
- High attention to detail and a deep appreciation and proven ability for process-driven and detailed execution of marketing activities
- Strong problem-solving skills with experience overcoming ambiguity

Pay
Base Salary Compensation Range: $94,556.00 - $138,674.00
Incentive Target Percentage: 12.5% Annual
Schedule
Morningstar's hybrid work environment requires four days in-office each week in most locations. A range of other benefits are also available to enhance flexibility as needs change.
