Role Overview

Fitch Ratings' U.S. and Canada Corporates Rating group is seeking a Senior Director to join their Energy team. The successful candidate will evaluate corporate debt issuers, contribute to Fitch's research, and manage a team of analysts.

Qualifications

  • Extensive corporate credit experience with strong financial analysis and modeling skills
  • Comprehensive understanding of fixed income/debt capital markets, including investment grade and leveraged finance
  • Network of professional relationships within the debt capital markets and energy sectors
  • Proven success in nurturing talent and developing junior analysts

Key Responsibilities

  • Cover a portfolio of 15-20 E&P, Refining, and Oil Field Services companies across investment-grade and speculative-grade ratings
  • Articulate Fitch’s credit views and sector outlook in meetings, conference calls, and industry roundtables
  • Be a highly visible presence for external stakeholders in the ratings process
  • Participate in the evaluation of other credits within Corporates, as well as other related credit groups
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment in the Energy team

Requirements

  • 10+ years relevant experience in a capital markets and/or credit analysis role, including some coverage or knowledge of the energy sector
  • A keen sense of intellectual curiosity and a commitment to continuous learning
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience managing, mentoring, and developing people and teams
  • The agility to manage multiple projects and adapt to changing priorities
  • A Bachelor's degree is essential; an MBA, other advanced degrees, or a CFA designation is a plus
  • Some travel is necessary, as is adherence to Fitch's Onsite Flex time in office policy

For New York & Chicago Roles Only

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $175,000 and $250,000 per year. Actual salaries will be determined on an individualized basis and may vary based on factors including but not limited to education, training, experience, past performance, and other job-related factors. Base pay is one part of Fitch’s total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, long-term incentives, and other benefits sponsored by Fitch.
