Responsibilities
- Prepare written credit memorandums for all new loans, renewals, extensions, and modifications, assessing financial strengths and weaknesses of borrowers, risk assessments, guarantor strength, industry analysis, collateral, and loan structures with opinions on creditworthiness.
- Gather information on actual and prospective borrowers through inquiries and investigations with trade suppliers, financial institutions, appraisers, professional firms, and in-house data related to loan amounts, activity, profitability, and affiliate relationships.
- Assist in portfolio management activities, including completing Annual Financial Updates and Loan Management Reports on existing borrowers.
- Order and review third-party reports such as real estate appraisals.
- Spread financial statements using computerized financial software and analyze system-generated reports to prepare written reviews.
- Accompany account officers on client calls to gather additional information and better assess credit risks.
- Monitor loan compliance on existing customer accounts.
- Track the stages of active and pending loans.
- Analyze loans to highlight problems or questions and write final credit analyses.
Requirements
- Thorough knowledge of accounting and legal principles underlying bank documents.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance with a minimum of 3 years of related experience.
- Computer literacy with fluency in Microsoft Office programs; advanced Excel analysis skills required.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships both internally and externally.
- Must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
Pay
Base salary for this position in New York generally ranges between $105,000 and $115,000 annually, depending on business need, qualifications, and experience. Base salary does not include incentive compensation, commission, or other remuneration or benefits.
