Credit Analyst
About The Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Credit Analyst to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be instrumental in evaluating credit requests, analyzing financial data, and supporting informed lending decisions that align with our credit union’s policies. You will work closely with our lending team to assess risk, monitor loan performance, and ensure compliance with all regulatory and internal standards.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in credit analysis, commercial lending, or a related financial field.
- A strong understanding of financial statements, credit reports, and risk assessment techniques.
- Proficiency in loan software, reporting tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Demonstrated excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
- A degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related discipline is preferred.
- Experience working with commercial or business lending portfolios and a solid understanding of credit policies is considered a plus.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive analysis of financial statements, credit reports, and other relevant data to evaluate the creditworthiness of business members.
- Perform initial credit assessments to ensure requests comply with credit union policies and guidelines.
- Prepare clear and concise credit presentations to support lending decisions, highlighting key risks and opportunities.
- Monitor loan collateral, valuations, and inspections to ensure ongoing compliance with loan agreements and covenants.
- Assist lenders with portfolio management, including ongoing review of existing credits and problem loan administration.
- Maintain accurate reports on members' credit obligations, financial performance, and loan activity.
- Gather financial data directly from members when necessary, ensuring data accuracy and completeness.
- Update and maintain credit and loan systems, ensuring timely and precise data entry and reporting.
- Participate in special projects and initiatives aimed at improving credit processes and risk management strategies.
- Collaborate effectively with internal teams, including lending, risk management, and compliance, to support organizational goals.
