About The Team
Ames Corporate Banking Department No.1 of Japanese Banking Americas covers Commercial Banking and CIB business with Japanese and Asian corporate clients doing business primarily in the Americas.
Summary
Credit Analyst has primary responsibility for managing all credit-related activities for the Bank’s clients including assessment, presentation, execution, monitoring, and reporting in a manner consistent with the Bank’s internal policies and guidelines.
Core Responsibilities
- Prepare credit applications for new and renewal transactions, gathering relevant information, outlining transaction rationales, modeling financial projections, and analyzing repayment sources.
- Conduct comprehensive annual reviews and periodic rating reviews.
- Prepare documentation of agreements, working with the legal team.
- Monitor the portfolio, including timely and accurate update of credit conditions, and tracking of covenants, market and industry.
- Correspond with clients to gather relevant information, conduct Q&As, and respond to various requests and inquiries.
- Work closely with Relationship Managers to deliver end-to-end execution of transactions in a timely manner, and support efforts to promote various bank products.
- Develop and maintain open communication channels and strong working relationships with clients, relevant divisions and business units.
- Aid with audit and regulatory related requests/meetings/presentations, as needed.
- Comply with Credit Risk Management and Legal & Compliance requirements in line with local regulations and audits.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or related area.
- Some credit credentials, analytical skills with in-depth knowledge of accounting and corporate finance.
- Prior banking in a similar field and/or formalized credit training from an accredited financial institution preferred.
- Ability to perform well under pressure in a demanding environment and adhere to tight deadlines, managing multiple tasks at the same time.
- Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to work well in a team environment, and strong interest in client interaction.
- Strong sense of accountability and ownership of tasks with attention to detail.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in Japanese and English, and ability to convey ideas efficiently.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, CapIQ and Bloomberg.
Qualifications
The expected base salary ranges from $85,000 - $90,000. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications and licenses obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to salary and a generous employee benefits package, successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.
