About the role

This Credit Analyst evaluates individual credits for compliance with underwriting guidelines and accuracy of risk rating, analyzes the bank’s loan portfolio for deterioration in quality, researches local and national economic trends, and interprets their potential impact on the loan portfolio.

Responsibilities

  • Review Bank Loans: critique and evaluate loans for deterioration in credit quality; scrutinize individual loan files for compliance with Bank policy, federal regulations, completeness and accuracy of loan documents, financial strength of borrower, strength of collateral position, and accuracy in risk grading.
  • Identify weaknesses in credits for potential problems and/or losses and recommend corrective actions.
  • Research economic information and monitor economic trends in the major industries affecting the loan portfolio to determine if additional risks to the bank have occurred.
  • Analyze Borrower's financial position: spread and analyze borrower's financial statements and prepare written summaries of findings for use by Loan Officers on applications for new loans and annual renewals.
  • Analyze and compare borrower financial performance to peer groups using national statistics; conduct full loan analysis, including industry and local economic trends and risks, of selected borrowers.
  • Prepare prescreen evaluations on existing and prospective borrowers.
  • Portfolio Risk Analysis: research and analyze information relative to the bank’s risk in identified areas of loan and industry concentrations; prepare management reports of specific economic or market trends affecting the bank’s loan portfolio.
  • Conduct annual evaluations of large credits; perform examinations and evaluations of individual loan officer and/or branch loan portfolios.
  • Prepare various management reports as assigned by department management.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Good computer skills, including but not limited to those found in a Windows environment.
  • Good analytical, oral, and written communication skills combined with the ability to present information in a clear and concise manner.
  • BS Degree in Accounting or Finance or 2 years equivalent work experience.
  • Ability to work in a team setting.

Schedule

Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Pay

The wage listed is within the range associated with this position. Actual compensation will be based on qualifications and experience.
