As we continue to grow, Bank of Luxemburg is looking to add an additional Credit Analyst to join our team!

Position Summary

Supports company culture and mission statement to “Have a Positive Impact on People’s Lives”. Reviews and analyzes corporate and individual tax returns and/or financial data to quantify and estimate the degree of risk associated with the extension of credit to both existing and prospective loan customers of the Bank. This position will prepare the loan presentation for use by lenders, senior management and loan committee. Recommends and verifies the appropriate risk rating of credit relationships.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develops Credit Presentations/Reports on New, Renewal and Extension Loans

    • A. Reviews all pertinent credit and financial information, including reporting services, credit bureaus, other financial institutions, bank files and tracking the collection of tax returns and financial information from the appropriate lender
    • B. Completes credit presentations for ACH reviews and internal loan reviews
    • C. Determines the need for more thorough investigation or additional information and contacts appropriate sources for such information
    • D. Verifies aggregate credit exposure to ensure Bank does not surpass legal lending limit
    • E. Spreads and analyzes financial statements and related material
    • F. Evaluates personal and business cash flow to determine repayment ability
    • G. Analyzes collateral and its adequacy
    • H. Recommends appropriate risk rating
    • I. Presents facts concerning credit worthiness to Senior Vice President of Credit, Sr. Credit Analyst, Loan Officers and Chief Lending Officer
  • Initiates the Commercial Loan Renewal Process

    • A. Inputs the loan information request into the credit underwriting system for new and renewed commercial loans and ACH request
    • B. Accesses public data bases to gather DFI documentation, UCC documents, circuit court reports and real estate tax bills
    • C. Accesses private data bases to obtain credit bureau reports and environmental data reports
    • D. Notifies both Commercial Loan Sales Officer and Commercial Loan Coordinator that the loan renewal has been established in the credit underwriting system and discusses the documentation needed to proceed
  • Performs Supporting Credit Duties

    • A. Scans all credit documents into the bank’s document warehousing system
    • B. Updates the tracking of tax & financial information on the bank’s customers
    • C. Completes Borrowing Base Agreements
    • D. Completes appraisal and real estate evaluation reviews

Other Experience and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with a major in Accounting, Finance, or Economics and a minimum of two to three years credit and/or lending experience or equivalent experience
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Possesses strong reasoning skills, time management skills, problem-solving and communication skills (both verbal and written)
  • Is detail-oriented and has the ability to multi-task and work independently
