About the Role

Ensures the timely completion of applications for initial and/or recredentialing by assisting applicants in submitting all necessary documentation. Performs a variety of credentialing tasks to complete the credentialing process for Trinity Health RHMs, following policies and procedures while maintaining an accurate physician database.

Responsibilities

  • Assists the Manager in identifying and scheduling reappointment candidates.
  • Performs file audits and provides feedback on completed initial and reappointment credentialing files.
  • Assists in training and orienting new team members.
  • Conducts daily data entry to maintain an accurate physician database.
  • Facilitates the integration of new RHMs into the CVO through data entry and/or conversion.
  • Communicates regularly with applicants and RHMs to complete credentialing criteria within specified timeframes.
  • Contacts primary sources to gather required verifications via telephone, fax, mail, and internet.
  • Prepares documentation of all verifications, including summaries of verified references.
  • Assists in the reappointment process by collecting and verifying information and completing follow-up.
  • Meets processing time thresholds consistently with minimal error.
  • Assists with drafting RHM privilege forms in the PCCB module of the credentialing database.
  • Maintains confidentiality of sensitive information pertaining to patients, physicians, employees, and external entities.
  • Tracks errors and complaints to support process improvement activities.
  • Participates in professional development programs and organizations to stay updated on healthcare regulations and legislation.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Director.
  • Maintains knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local laws, as well as Trinity Health’s Integrity and Compliance Program and Code of Conduct.

Requirements

  • Two years of post-high school education, training, or experience.
  • Associate’s degree in health administration or a related field preferred.
  • One year of work experience in a healthcare environment with general knowledge of hospital settings, physician practices, and managed care organizations.
  • Knowledge of NCQA and TJC standards, NPDB guidelines, hospital policies, and licensing regulations.
  • Experience with database organization, management, and report generation.
  • Proficiency in Windows-based word processing software.
  • Current CPCS and/or CPMSM eligibility by the National Association Medical Staff Services preferred but not required.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong statistical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to provide quality service and work autonomously or within a team.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and thoroughness.
  • Ability to work in a high-pressure environment with frequent changes in priorities.

Pay

Hourly pay range: $21.95 - $32.92
