Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain compliance with all regulatory and accrediting institutions.
- Monitor Medical staff credentials and licenses.
- Advise medical staff on renewal procedures.
- Participate in the development of internal credentialing processes.
- Keep records on licenses, credentials, and insurance contracts.
- Release information to agencies and members of the public as required by NYS law.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with physicians and coworkers.
- Interact with others in a positive, respectful, and considerate manner.
- Affords assistance in the implementation and maintenance of the organization's adopted compliance program.
- Performs according to established compliance policies and procedures.
- Affords responsibility of mandatory training requirements. Attend staff meetings and educational sessions.
- Adheres to safety policies and procedures in performing job duties and responsibilities.
- Follows proper infection control and safety practices in the performance of all duties.
- Performs administrative duties pertinent to position.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma, GED, or suitable equivalent.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Knowledge of medical credentialing and privileging procedures and standards.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft office, word, and excel.
- Proficient touch-typing skills.
- Ability to focus for extended periods of time.
Physical/Mental Requirements
- Ability to sit/stand for a considerable amount of time; ability to walk.
- Visual and auditory acuity for frequent use of computer, telephone, and occasional use of other office equipment.
- Ability to perform occasional overhead and low reaching.
- Physical strength required for equipment needs and patient-care activities.
- Visual and auditory acuity for timely responsiveness and patient-care assessment activities.
- Ability to move quickly in response to center needs.
- Constant and frequent judgment and response.
- Occasional judgment and response to disasters or emergencies, actual events, or drills.
Working Conditions (Environmental)
- Well-lit and ventilated, with non-hazardous and hazardous equipment.
