Credentialed Veterinary Technician - Part Time

MedVet is a fast-growing Emergency and Specialty provider with practices nationwide. We help our patients receive advanced medical treatments and innovations such as chemotherapy and radiation, cardiac ablations, treatments for glaucoma, physical rehabilitation, dermatology, and more. This role is ideal for those who enjoy a fast-paced environment, can shift gears quickly, and handle the stress of critical situations with ease. Every day is different in the ER, with no two cases alike.

Schedule

Shift: 4:00 PM – 2:00 AM, Wednesday through Thursday.

Responsibilities

• Record and deliver organized rounds, discuss cases, and gather additional information as necessary.
• Evaluate incoming patients and prioritize based on assessment.
• Partner with the patient care team regarding treatment plans, client communication, and nursing care concerns.
• Provide client education, including home care instructions, medications (indications, adverse reactions), and general wellness updates on hospitalized patients.
• Assist DVM with patient assessment, treatment, and procedures.
• Provide monitoring and nursing care to hospitalized patients.
• Induce and monitor general anesthesia and sedation procedures.
• Perform in-house laboratory testing and prepare samples for outside laboratory testing.

Requirements

• State Registered Veterinary Technician license required.
• Prior veterinary experience required; previous emergency experience desired.
• Proficient in calculations (drugs, constant rate infusions, unit conversions, etc.).
• Flexibility with work hours and able to work additional hours when necessary.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Pay

This position has an initial hiring range of $24.00 to $40.00 per hour based on skillset and experience. Shift differentials include:

• Hours worked between 8:00 PM and 11:59 PM: base pay + $2/hour.
• Hours worked between 12:00 AM and 7:59 AM: base pay + $3/hour.
• Hours worked on weekends (day or night): base pay + $1/hour + any applicable differential.
