About the role
The Credentialed Trainer (CT) is responsible for training delivery, support, and all related tasks associated with their assigned application(s). The Credentialed Trainer works with Principal Trainers, Analysts, Informaticists, Health System leaders, and Education to ensure end users can effectively use the system. They identify individuals needing additional support or training and provide assistance as needed, ensuring students can use the designated application efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Help plan, organize, and teach classes required for the successful implementation and adoption of the electronic health record.
- Collaborate with end users and Principal Trainers to ensure build, training, and support align with approved workflows.
- Ensure coverage for all scheduled classes and support in collaboration with Principal Trainers.
- Prepare classrooms, ensuring materials are printed and available, and classrooms are organized and clean.
- Maintain classroom information on online learning modules, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Provide onsite end user support through rounding, attending associate fairs, and other activities; proactively identify support needs and provide innovative solutions.
- Work with the provisioning team to ensure associates complete appropriate training before access is granted.
- Review Visio workflows and articulate processes as they relate to documentation in the EHR (Electronic Health Records).
- Customize and create job aids using approved templates and adhering to standardized style guides.
- Attend meetings, produce deliverables on time, and escalate issues or concerns appropriately.
- Complete job shadows, deliver training, and build confidence for end users.
- Act as an advocate for end users by relaying issues or opportunities for improvement to Principal Trainers.
- Test and troubleshoot the Training and build environment.
- Deliver training, including workflow-based and role-specific class content, eLearning, job aids, and Learning Home Dashboards.
- Require minimal instruction on day-to-day work and make decisions regarding routine cases.
- Model, mentor, and train team members within the training team.
- Work under minimal supervision, using independent judgment requiring analysis of variable factors.
- Collaborate with senior team members to develop and validate methods and teaching techniques.
- Solve or escalate operational problems to senior team members and management.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School diploma required; Associate degree preferred.
- Preferred experience with adult learners, in-person, and virtual training.
- Two or more years of experience in education, as an EPIC end user, or related field required; healthcare industry education preferred.
- Previous experience as a Credentialed Trainer, End User, Informaticist, Analyst, Logistics Coordinator, or Facilitator for one or more Epic applications is strongly preferred.
- Experience in instructional design, training, or using the Epic system preferred.
- Experience with multiple full-cycle implementations, post-live support, and quarterly upgrade experience is preferred.
- Experience with Microsoft Office suite, including Outlook, SharePoint, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Experience or willingness to learn Excel, Teams, Shifts, Tasks, and Lists required.
- Experience with any industry LMS (Learning Management System) is preferred.
- Proven track record of successfully delivering projects on time and within budget.
Qualifications
- Achieve designated Epic Credentialed status within 6 months of hire (or as agreed upon with manager).
- Cross-training in one or more Epic applications with Credentialed status is expected within one year of hire (or as agreed upon with manager).
Schedule
8 AM – 5 PM, Monday through Friday.
