About the role
At Donut Studios, you’ll be responsible for owning the production of user-generated content (UGC) from brief to delivery, leading high-volume productions, and collaborating with Creative Strategy to shape production-ready concepts. You'll also manage production logistics and workflow, leverage AI and new tools to improve production, and serve as a cross-functional creative execution partner.
Responsibilities
- Own UGC Production from Brief to Delivery
- Lead high-volume UGC productions from kickoff through final handoff, managing everything from script review and shoot planning to execution and post-production coordination.
- Ensure concepts are feasible, shoots are well organized, and final deliverables meet quality and performance expectations.
- Self-Film Platform-Native Content
- Capture content independently for paid and organic social campaigns across platforms and formats, whether shooting at home, on set, or on location. Produce b-roll, product shots, and supporting footage with a strong understanding of what feels native to each platform and what will resonate with audiences.
- Direct Creators and Talent for Performance
- Run directed shoots with creators and talent, guiding performance with a clear point of view on what will work on platform. Provide feedback, coaching, and virtual direction as needed to help external creators deliver stronger, more effective content.
- Partner with Creative Strategy to Shape Production-Ready Concepts
- Collaborate closely with Creative Strategy to evaluate concepts early, pressure-test production viability, and ensure creative ideas can be executed effectively. Bring a production lens to the process, helping teams avoid downstream challenges and make stronger creative decisions upfront.
- Manage Production Logistics and Workflow
- Own production details including prop sourcing, location planning, shoot prep, and post handoff. Balance multiple productions at different stages simultaneously while keeping timelines, deliverables, and communication on track.
- Leverage AI and New Tools to Improve Production
- Use AI tools to support research, casting preparation, asset organization, pre-production planning, and workflow efficiency. Contribute to building and evolving AI-native production processes that help the team work smarter and move faster.
- Serve as a Cross-Functional Creative Execution Partner
- Act as a thought partner across teams, bringing production expertise into conversations around creative development, workflows, and execution. Share perspective on what performs and help shape concepts, processes, and decisions with production realities in mind.
- Maintain a High Bar for Creative Quality
- Take ownership of final creative output, ensuring content aligns with strategic objectives, meets quality standards, and reflects a strong understanding of platform performance. Bring your creative instincts to every stage of the process, from concept through delivery.
Requirements
- 1–2 years of production or content creation experience, ideally within digital, social, or creator-driven environments, with experience producing UGC or social content at volume rather than isolated one-off shoots.
- Deep fluency in UGC and social-first content, with a strong instinct for what performs on platforms like TikTok and Instagram and the ability to break down why certain creative resonates.
- Strong mobile production skills, including filming, lighting, framing, audio capture, and camera settings, with the ability to create polished content in a range of environments.
- Comfort directing and coaching creators or talent, with a knack for guiding performances that feel authentic, on-brand, and platform-native rather than overly scripted.
- A strong creative eye and high attention to detail, with good taste in framing, aesthetics, continuity, wardrobe, and overall shot quality.
- Excellent organization and production management skills, with the ability to run multiple shoots and workstreams in parallel while keeping timelines, logistics, and details on track.
- A self-directed, proactive working style, with the ability to independently own shoot days, make decisions quickly, and keep production moving without heavy oversight.
- Comfort using AI tools and production software to work more efficiently, including tools for research, planning, asset organization, and workflow management. Experience with platforms like Adobe Creative Suite, Asana, Airtable, and Google Drive is a plus.
Qualifications
Based in Los Angeles and available for frequent on-site shoots, including multiple shoot days per week in Manhattan Beach and other production locations as needed.
