About HAUS

HAUS is the world’s first integrated public relations and creative services agency purpose-built for deep tech startups and scaleups. In January 2022, we set out on a mission to accelerate the adoption of technologies that maximize freedom, material abundance, and human flourishing. Since then, we’ve supported more than 100 startups, scaleups, venture firms, research labs, and other organizations in industries including artificial intelligence, aerospace, biotechnology, climate, defense, energy, advanced manufacturing, quantum computing, semiconductors, robotics, and more.

Responsibilities

  • Design marketing websites for deep tech startups that function as powerful brand experiences and serious business tools. A HAUS site must make a visitor feel something about a company in the first few seconds while maintaining usability and well-structured product experience across every page.
  • Push motion, 3D, and interactivity as core design elements. Design with animation, scroll-driven storytelling, video, interactive components, and real-time 3D as first-class elements of the composition, not afterthoughts.
  • Think outside the grid while staying on-brand. Bring creative structural thinking to every project—custom layouts, unconventional page architectures, and unexpected uses of space, type, and imagery—while adhering to the brand system.
  • Extend client brand identity into the web medium. Work closely with HAUS brand designers to translate static visual identities into fully realized web experiences, making considered decisions about typography, color, imagery, and motion in a live browser context.
  • Ground the work in UI/UX best practices. Ensure sites are navigable, readable, and structured around user behavior with clear hierarchy, responsive design, and intuitive interaction patterns.
  • Collaborate closely with the HAUS creative and dev team. Design in Figma with handoff in mind—clean files, organized components, clear annotations—and communicate proactively with developers to resolve constraints (typically building in Webflow).

Requirements

  • Passion for deep tech and genuine excitement for cutting-edge technologies.
  • Professional experience designing marketing websites, ideally at a creative agency or in-house at a design-forward company. Portfolio must showcase visually exceptional marketing sites with real motion and interactive work.
  • Fluency with motion and interactive design as a core part of your practice. Ability to concept in motion, prototype in tools like Figma, Rive, After Effects, or code-adjacent environments, and familiarity with 3D tools (e.g., Spline, Cinema 4D, Blender) for web contexts.
  • Expert-level Figma skills, including component libraries, auto layout, and design systems. Strong Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator) skills for asset creation. Familiarity with Webflow’s design paradigm.
  • Exceptional eye for typography, layout, composition, and visual hierarchy, with an understanding of how to adapt print/branding decisions for the web.
  • Structural creativity—ability to design outside standard grids without losing coherence, knowing when to break convention intentionally.
  • Brand fluency—skill in extending existing brand identities into new mediums while preserving their intent, making smart judgment calls when guidelines are incomplete.
  • Solid UI/UX fundamentals, including responsive design, grid systems, web typography, information architecture, and interaction design.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and file organization. Figma files should be developer-friendly with consistent naming and design systems.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork. Ability to collaborate fluidly with brand designers, copywriters, and developers in a distributed remote environment (Slack, Zoom).
  • Tech-savvy with curiosity about innovation. Enthusiasm for deep tech domains (AI, robotics, biotech, aerospace, etc.) to design with depth and specificity.

Bonus Skills

  • Fluency with AI tools in design workflows (image generation, layout exploration, asset prep, QA).
  • Familiarity with GSAP, Lottie, Framer, or lightweight frontend code.
  • Prior work in aerospace, defense, robotics, semiconductors, biotech, climate, energy, or other deep tech verticals.
