The Waymo Marketing team is seeking a creative leader to pioneer bold creative and brand narratives that translate Waymo’s frontier autonomous driving technology into clear, compelling, and human-centered campaigns. Reporting to the Group Creative Marketing Lead, you will drive the creative vision and execution of high-visibility campaigns across a wide range of mediums, from massive brand initiatives to fast-paced, always-on paid social and digital content.

Responsibilities

  • Own the verbal brand standards and end-to-end writing process, ensuring emotional resonance, cultural relevance, and absolute brand alignment.
  • Build, scale, and optimize repeatable creative systems and modular templates to enable your team to deliver fast-turnaround, localized digital ad campaigns at speed without sacrificing craft, taste, or brand consistency.
  • Direct and collaborate with external agencies and production partners, translating business briefs into clear creative strategies to streamline high-volume production demands.
  • Develop end-to-end integrated campaigns across diverse channels, showing your ability to scale creative strategies from broad awareness-building down to hyper-focused performance and conversion stages.
  • Mastery of storytelling and communication, with a proven ability to distill complex, emerging technology or sophisticated technical subjects into clear, compelling, and highly engaging consumer messaging.
  • Integrate robust design and verbal systems into highly scalable, polished, and culturally resonant creative work.
  • Expand and scale a consumer brand internationally, adapting large-scale marketing campaigns to respect local cultural nuances while maintaining a highly cohesive global brand standard.
  • Use a performance marketing and direct-to-consumer (DTC) creative mindset, with a proven track record of using creative performance metrics and rapid testing to optimize campaign copy, conversion, and pipeline growth.
  • Communicate and present compelling pitches, distilling complex, frontier technology into simple, human-centered narratives.
  • Earn trust with senior, non-marketing leaders through advanced stakeholder and executive management skills, including pitching bold creative directions and resolving conflicting visions.
  • Utilize advanced fluency with Generative AI and AI-assisted creative tools as a strategic multiplier to accelerate copy ideation, asset versioning, and personalization at scale.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in brand creative, copywriting, or creative direction at an agency or in-house marketing team, with a portfolio demonstrating mastery in both traditional and digital mediums.
  • 5+ years of direct people management experience, with a proven history of growing, inspiring, and managing multi-disciplinary creative teams of copywriters, designers, and video editors.
  • Mastery of storytelling and communication, with a proven ability to distill complex, emerging technology or sophisticated technical subjects into clear, compelling, and highly engaging consumer messaging.
  • Demonstrated experience integrating robust design and verbal systems into highly scalable, polished, and culturally resonant creative work.
  • Experience expanding and scaling a consumer brand internationally, adapting large-scale marketing campaigns to respect local cultural nuances while maintaining a highly cohesive global brand standard.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with a demonstrated ability to design compelling pitches and distill complex, frontier technology into simple, human-centered narratives.
  • Advanced fluency with Generative AI and AI-assisted creative tools, utilizing emerging technologies as a strategic multiplier to accelerate copy ideation, asset versioning, and personalization at scale.
