Creative Strategist (Performance Marketing) Remote in Austin, Texas

About the role

PetLab Co. is a world leader in the DTC pet supplement market with a 9-figure revenue, profitable and rapidly growing globally. The Creative Strategist (Performance Marketing) role bridges the gap between the Media Buying team and the Creative team, focusing on data-driven storytelling to ensure ads convert based on performance metrics.

Responsibilities

• Data Analysis & Performance Auditing
• Analyze performance metrics such as Hook Rate, Hold Rate, CTR, CPA, and ROAS
• Identify winning creative patterns and customer pain points
• Translate performance data into creative insights
• Creative Ideation & Scriptwriting
• Create big ideas for campaigns and ad series
• Write high-impact hooks, body copy, and calls-to-action
• Storyboard content to maintain viewer retention
• Generate large volumes of structured creative tests
• Production Management & Creative Briefing
• Brief UGC creators and influencers
• Provide detailed production briefs
• Maintain a library of high-performing assets
• Testing Strategy & Iteration
• Design structured A/B tests
• Optimize ads by refining hooks, pacing, messaging, or visuals
• Stay updated on emerging creative trends

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in creative strategy or performance creative roles
• Experience in high-growth, paid social-led DTC brands
• Deep expertise in Meta and TikTok advertising ecosystems
• Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret performance data
• A portfolio of direct-response ad concepts, scripts, or campaigns
• Experience briefing or directing creators, influencers, or UGC production
• Understanding of performance marketing metrics
• Excellent communication skills
