About the Role
Stimulate is looking for a part-time Creative Strategist to own the creative direction, quality, and performance of the email marketing content we produce for our clients. The goal is simple: make sure everything we create looks and feels like the client while continuously improving performance.
Responsibilities
Creative Direction
- Brief our creative team on what to build, including the concept, messaging, structure, and overall creative direction.
- Review completed creative and ensure it aligns with client branding and your original vision before it goes to the client.
- Provide clear feedback to copywriters and designers throughout the creative process as needed.
Client Feedback & Brand Management
- Review and gather client feedback on creative.
- Translate client feedback into clear, actionable edits for the creative team.
- Delegate edits to the appropriate team members and ensure they're completed correctly.
- Document client preferences, feedback, and learnings so the team gets better at producing on-brand work over time.
Secondary Responsibilities
- Regularly find and share new email concepts, formats, hooks, and creative inspiration with the team.
- Identify opportunities to improve creative based on past performance.
- Develop and run A/B tests around messaging, concepts, layouts, offers, and other creative variables.
- Document test results and turn winning insights into repeatable creative strategies.
What Success Looks Like
There are two primary goals for this role:
- Make sure our content is on-brand.
- Make sure our creative performs.
Requirements
You'd be a strong fit if you:
- Have experience with creative strategy, ideally for eCommerce brands.
- Have a strong understanding of direct-response marketing and what makes creative convert.
- Can look at a brand and quickly understand its voice, positioning, customers, and aesthetic.
- Have strong creative judgment across both copy and design.
- Are great at communicating a creative vision to writers and designers.
- Give specific, actionable feedback rather than subjective feedback like "make it pop."
- Are highly organized and good at documenting details and preferences.
- Enjoy testing ideas, reviewing results, and figuring out why something worked.
- Can balance brand quality and performance rather than sacrificing one for the other.
