About the role
We're hiring a Creative Director, Learning Content to own the creative vision for EasyLlama’s entire course library. This is a high-impact senior IC role reporting to our Program Manager, with responsibility for the look, feel, tone, and quality of every learning experience we ship.
Responsibilities
- Define and maintain a cohesive visual identity and design language that scales across topics, formats, and learner audiences.
- Develop and maintain content style guides tailored to specific industries (healthcare, finance, retail, tech) and learner audiences.
- Write clear, thorough creative briefs that capture audience, objectives, tone, format, and visual direction so production can begin without back-and-forth.
- Continuously refine style guides and QC criteria as the course library grows and learner feedback surfaces new opportunities.
- Lead portfolio-level creative direction across many in-production courses while also being a hands-on creative force yourself.
- Lead creative development of new formats including video, animation, motion graphics, and interactive modules.
- Own the end-to-end production pipeline for multimedia content, setting standards and workflows that scale.
- Drive hands-on creative work — concepting, scripting, storyboarding, art direction — while directing external vendors and contractors.
- Actively use AI-generated media tools (e.g. Midjourney, Adobe Firefly, Stable Diffusion (Stability AI), Runway ML (Gen-2/Gen-3), Synthesia, Descript, HeyGen, OpusClip, ElevenLabs, Suno AI, etc.) as genuine efficiency and quality levers, not novelties.
- Continuously evaluate emerging tools and trends in content production.
- Enforce rigorous production quality control at every stage of the content lifecycle, reviewing deliverables against defined specs before they advance or ship.
- Document bugs, inconsistencies, and UX issues clearly, ensuring they are triaged and resolved before content goes live.
- Maintain and evolve a QA checklist and quality rubric that defines EasyLlama’s standard for production-ready content.
- Lead creative vision workshops with executive and senior stakeholders, translating high-level goals into production-ready briefs and creative frameworks.
- Regularly review learner satisfaction scores, course ratings, and engagement data to identify what’s working — and what isn’t — and adjust creative decisions accordingly.
- Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Instructional Designers, and Engineers on AI-assisted content production workflows.
- Serve as the creative point of contact for Marketing, ensuring course content stays aligned with the EasyLlama brand.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in creative direction, content production, or a related field, with a portfolio spanning digital media, video, and/or eLearning.
- Proven ability to define and evolve a brand’s visual identity — you’ve done it before and have the work to show it.
- Deep expertise in motion graphics/animation, video production, interactive design, and/or instructional media.
- Experience authoring content style guides for multiple industries and learner audiences.
- Disciplined approach to production quality control: reviewing content against spec, catching issues early, and holding the line before anything ships.
- Strong command of Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere, After Effects, Illustrator, Figma, or equivalents); familiarity with eLearning authoring tools (Articulate, Rise, etc.) a strong plus.
- Hands-on experience creating content with AI-generated media tools (Sora, ElevenLabs, Midjourney, Pika, Adobe Firefly, or comparable platforms), with a portfolio to demonstrate it.
Qualifications
- Nice to Have:
- Background in eLearning, workplace training, HR tech, or adjacent SaaS industries.
- Experience fine-tuning or prompt-engineering AI models for brand-consistent output.
- Familiarity with accessibility standards in digital content (WCAG, Section 508).
- Experience building a creative function from an early or formative stage.
Skills
- Experience leading creative teams or cross-functional project pods with a track record of shipping high-quality work on deadline.
