About the role
The HI USA PUB TOUR allows our travelers to engage in a common social activity that allows an opportunity for them to learn more about the community and each other. The primary purpose of a PUB TOUR is to expose guests to new locations within our community and have conversations with other guests.
Responsibilities
- Lead guests to cultural and historical bars in the Wrigleyville neighborhood of Chicago.
- Ensure the program provides opportunities for guests to learn and share history, culture, and perspectives.
- Each establishment visited must have a unique history/story that gives insight to the local culture, and/or inclusion of historically underrepresented / diverse perspectives of the city - this could be represented by clientele or ownership.
- Incorporate questions and/or activities that encourage conversations and/or reflection among the guests.
Requirements
MUST BE A RESIDENT OF CHICAGO OR THE CHICAGO AREA TO APPLY.
Qualifications
- Resident of Chicago or the Chicago area.
- Ability to lead a pub tour for 3 hours on any of the following evenings: Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, or Saturdays.
- Knowledge of cultural and historical aspects of Wrigleyville.
- Experience in public speaking and facilitating conversations.
Skills
- Public speaking skills.
- Ability to engage and interact with diverse groups of people.
- Knowledge of Chicago's Wrigleyville neighborhood.
