CRE Loan Underwriter

Finance$110k/yrFull-time
Fully remote role with a growing private lending platform. Base salary range: $110k–$125k all-in.
About the role
You will own credit decisions from first look through close on bridge, DSCR, and fix-and-flip transactions. This is not a traditional bank underwriting seat: you will underwrite real risk, move fast, and build the credit case yourself.
- Underwrite across the full deal lifecycle—initial screening through closing
- Write your own credit and debt memos rather than handing analysis off
- Work directly with borrowers, brokers, and internal stakeholders in a client-facing capacity
Requirements
- Experience underwriting outside a traditional bank—debt fund, bridge lender, or CMBS platform
- Comfort evaluating higher-LTV, faster-moving deals rather than the safest, slowest paper
- Ability to own a deal end-to-end, build the credit memo yourself, and move at the pace private credit requires
- CMBS exposure is a strong plus
- DSCR and fix-and-flip lending experience is a strong plus
What this role is not
This is not a fit for someone whose underwriting experience is entirely within a bank’s credit committee process or who is accustomed to long close timelines and conservative LTVs. We need someone already comfortable in the faster, riskier end of CRE lending.
Schedule
Start date: end of August. Fully remote, reporting into a small, hands-on lending team.
