About the role
SPX is a diverse team of unique individuals who all make an impact. As a Shipping and Receiving Assembler, you will package and prepare assembled units for shipment and load/unload crates from trailers.
Responsibilities
- Build crates from wood using saws, pneumatic nail and staple guns.
- Package units for shipment by using a tape machine, bag machine, and foam machine.
- Operate a Forklift and load/unload large crates on trailers.
- Training and Certification will be provided.
- Working within a fast-paced team environment.
Requirements
- Required Experience: One to three months related experience and/or training
- Preferred Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
Working Environment
- Employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
- The employee is frequently required to walk and talk or hear.
- The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
- Employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles; risk of electrical shock and vibration.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.
