Crane Technician II

About the role

Lift Solutions Holdings provides end-to-end industrial lifting solutions, including OSHA compliance inspections, crane equipment, aftermarket services, and parts for overhead cranes and other lifting equipment. We are hiring a Crane Technician to join the team in Angola, IN. The Crane Technician will provide quality installation, inspections, maintenance, and repair service for hoist and crane equipment while upholding the highest level of professional integrity and ethics to instill customer confidence.

Responsibilities

• Service overhead crane systems and hoists by performing quality installations.
• Perform OSHA-equivalent inspections; document and complete warranty work; troubleshoot breakdowns.
• Perform preventive maintenance and respond to emergency service/breakdown calls.
• Support customers by effectively interfacing with them and the office to repair equipment as needed.
• Perform electrical and/or mechanical adjustments or repairs with or without engineered drawings.
• Maintain rapport with customers by examining complaints, identifying solutions, suggesting improved methods and techniques, and recommending system improvements.
• Document service and installation actions by completing forms, reports, and inspection checklists.
• Maintain professional presentation, timeliness, appearance, and organization in all areas.
• Develop a working knowledge of Federal, State, and local codes for overhead cranes and hoists.
• Responsible for company equipment, including company vehicle(s) and tools.

Requirements

• 5 or more years’ experience troubleshooting cranes and hoist equipment.
• Experience with 3-phase motors, VFDs, contactors, and circuits.
• Previous overhead crane and scissor lift experience required.
• Associate’s degree with concentration in Industrial Electrician, Electro-Mechanical Technology, preferred.
• Ability to work at height, in extreme temperatures, and noisy locations.
• Physically demanding role involving standing, walking, sitting, and the ability to lift 50-100 lbs.
• Perform inspections to OSHA criteria.
• Ability to work independently.
• Capable of dealing directly with customers and representing the company professionally.
• Strong communication skills for both internal and external stakeholders, keeping all parties informed of job status.
• Quality and results-driven while maintaining a safety mindset.
• Required to use own hand tools and meter.
• Must have a valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
