What You Will Do

• Safely operate bridge crane controls to unload incoming log trucks while working from elevated heights.
• Utilize all safety controls, to include “Stop, Think, and Ask” model.
• Ensure crane is not in operation when employees, drivers, or contractors are in the danger zone.
• Ensure environmental events are communicated quickly and clean up procedures are followed.
• Maintain clear and open communications with merchandiser operator and truck drivers to keep the mill efficient and productive.
• Maintain proper housekeeping and cleanliness expectations.
• Maintain attendance and punctuality expectations, to include break time compliance.
• Address minor equipment issues through repairs and adjustments.
• Aid coworkers or perform additional tasks as directed by supervisor.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

• Experience in an advanced operator role, above utility/general labor level.
• A minimum of one (1) year safely operating machinery or industrial equipment in a manufacturing environment OR military experience.
• Experience troubleshooting equipment in a manufacturing environment.

What Will Put You Ahead

• Sawmill process knowledge.
• Experience operating a Crane.
• Lumber or wood products manufacturing experience.
• Experience performing machine maintenance.
