About the role
A Lead Mobile Lifting Operations Crane Operator is responsible for executing high-tonnage, precision lifts on commercial and industrial sites. This role involves inspecting ground stability, setting up equipment with outrigger pads, and safely operating mobile cranes to move heavy machinery and structural components. The operator must verify load capacities considering weather conditions, perform pre-operational checks, and constantly monitor surroundings to avoid hazards. Collaboration with ground riggers and ironworkers using standard signals and radios is essential. Routine crane inspections, cable assessments, and minor mechanical maintenance ensure equipment integrity.
Responsibilities
- Inspect ground stability and install outrigger pads

Qualifications & Skills
- Valid New York State Class A Crane Operator Certificate of Competence
- Active CCO or NCCCO certification
- OSHA 10 certification
- Minimum of 3 years of practical crane operation experience
- Union membership or willingness to join
- Strong knowledge of crane hand signals, spatial geometry, and computerized load management systems
Preferred skills include troubleshooting hydraulic/mechanical systems and experience on commercial/industrial sites.
