Crane Operator

Responsibilities

• Operate a 70 - 100-ton crane according to signals from personnel or helper.
• Bolt, pin boom sections together to modify boom lengths.
• Perform routine maintenance.
• Take complete charge of all safety pertaining to set up and knockdown and operation of crane.
• Drive trucks to worksites and unload trucks.
• Perform any other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Knowledgeable in OSHA Regulations and ANSI standards in crane operations.
• Pass a drug test, background check, and fit for duty test.
• Possess a current NCCCO or equivalent crane operator certification.

Safety Requirements

• Promote an awareness of environmental, health and safety policies to ensure a safe working environment.
• Ensure compliance with all company policies.
• Attend and successfully complete Saulsbury Industries safety training education.
• Attend safety meetings and specialty training as directed by management.
• Attend various training classes as may be assigned by management.
• Take needed safety precautions in performing the work.

• Manual and finger dexterity.
• Eye-hand coordination.
• Depth perception.
• Far visual acuity.
• Small details visibility.
• Lift and carry up to fifty pounds.
• Climb 30-foot ladders without resting.
• Maintain balance on catwalks and narrow workspaces.
• Stand for extended periods of time.
• Reach above head while sitting or standing.
• Reach below knees while standing.
• Stoop or kneel.
• Work 50 or more hours each week.

Work Environment

• Awkward or confining workspaces.
• High places.
• Out-of-door environment.
• Noisy Environment.
• Dirtier Environment.
• Air contamination (dust, fumes, etc.).
