Crane Operator

About the role

This position involves operating a crane to hook up loads and ensure safety.

Responsibilities

• Manipulates or depresses crane controls to regulate speed and direction of crane and hoist movement
• Operates crane according to written, verbal, or signal instructions
• Cleans and maintains crane and hoisting mechanism
• Inspects crane for defective parts and notifies supervisor of defects or malfunctions
• May attach load to hook or other crane accessory prior to operating crane
• Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Able to stand, kneel, walk, lift, bend, stoop, push and pull for long periods of time
• Able to work ten (10) hours per day, five days (and occasionally six days) per week
• Works outdoors in Florida heat and rain; and around heavy highway traffic areas
