Crane Operator

Responsibilities

• Operate crane under complete control and under supervision
• Inspect the crane and all of its components and below-the-hook lifting devices routinely and periodically to ensure safety
• Perform routine maintenance and carry tools for repairs as needed
• Understand and execute the job billing process
• Travel the crane to and from job sites
• Wear required personal protective equipment while performing work
• Clean and maintain the crane and all components
• Utilize manufacturers' recommendations during assembly/disassembly, crane erection, and operation in all configurations
• Direct truck drivers and crane helpers during assembly/disassembly, crane set-up, and scope of work
• Mentor other crane operators, crane helpers, etc.
• Perform daily and monthly equipment inspections
• Follow all safety, company, and customer policies and procedures
• Drive haul truck and deliver loads
• Maintain logbook and hours

Requirements

• Minimum Class A CDL driver’s license and maintain it
• Possess an N.C.C.C.O. Crane Operator Certification Card for size and type of crane operating
• Possess crane operator qualification evaluations on all types and sizes of cranes operating
• Necessary knowledge of OSHA regulations and ANSI standards associated with crane and rigging services
• Proficient in oral and written communication skills
• Passed pre-employment drug and alcohol screen, DOT physical, and 7-year background check
• Able to take direction from supervision
• Clean driving record
