Full-time, benefits-eligible position reporting to the Crane Supervisor, On-Site Foreman, or Shipyard Superintendent.

Pay

  • $25.00/hr - $30.00/hr based on experience
  • $1,000 sign-on bonus paid in two installments after 60 and 180 days of continuous employment for eligible full-time positions
  • $500 employee referral bonus for each referred candidate who is hired

Responsibilities

  • Safely and efficiently support daily crane and material handling operations by moving materials, equipment, and ship components in accordance with production schedules
  • Promote a strong work ethic with a focus on safety, efficiency, teamwork, and production while ensuring all lifting operations comply with company policies and applicable safety regulations
  • Transfer loads to construction site and discharge safely
  • Bind loads to the crane or lifts
  • Inspect equipment and machinery daily and keep/update maintenance logs and daily activity log
  • Set up equipment based on load requirements
  • Follow all safety guidelines and procedures
  • Follow instructions from foreman/supervisors on site and keep job site clean
  • All other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a crane operator or shooting boom forklift operator
  • Able to operate:
    • 80 ton Grove GRT880 All-Terrain crane
    • 130 ton Link Belt RTC-8130-2 All-Terrain crane
    • Various shooting boom forklifts
    • Skid steer
  • Able to safely follow directions with little to no supervision

Physical Requirements

  • All types of physical movement required to perform essential functions
  • Ability to use upper and lower extremities
  • Ability to work outside in heat, inclement weather, and cold
  • Ability to crawl, kneel, crouch, climb, and bend around and under equipment, on ladders up to 24' at heights up to 70', stairs, scaffolds, through small accesses, inside tanks, and confined spaces, through hatches and manholes for much of the work shift
  • Ability to work over bodies of water
  • Ability to traverse uneven terrain, including loose pack gravel
  • Operate in isolation within the skeleton of ships, wearing heavy protective gear and carrying equipment weighing up to 75 lbs

Schedule

  • Monday – Friday, 6:00 am – 2:30 pm
  • 40 - 45+ hours per week
  • Overtime and weekend work required based on business needs
