Key Responsibilities
- Operate mobile, hydraulic, lattice boom, or other assigned cranes safely and efficiently.
- Perform lifting, hoisting, and material placement operations as directed by supervisors and signal persons.
- Carry out daily pre-operation inspections of crane and rigging equipment.
- Maintain accurate inspection logs and report any mechanical or safety concerns immediately.
- Follow load charts, lift plans, and manufacturer operating guidelines.
- Closely coordinate with riggers, signal persons, and site supervisors.
- Secure loads properly and ensure safe lifting practices at all times.
- Maintain clean and orderly equipment and work areas.
- Absorb general site duties when crane operation is not required.
- Comply with all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and project-specific safety plans.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3–5 years crane operating experience in construction or marine environments.
- Valid crane operator certification (NCCCO or equivalent) preferred or required based on crane type.
- Strong knowledge of load charts and safe rigging practices.
- Ability to perform daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance checks.
- Reliable attendance and ability to work extended hours as needed.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Valid driver’s license
Physical Requirements
- Ability to climb ladders and access crane cabs.
- Ability to sit for extended periods while operating equipment.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds when handling rigging or equipment.
Work Environment
- Outdoor construction sites
- Exposure to heavy equipment, noise, and varying weather conditions
