Crane Operator

Key Responsibilities

• Operate mobile, hydraulic, lattice boom, or other assigned cranes safely and efficiently.
• Perform lifting, hoisting, and material placement operations as directed by supervisors and signal persons.
• Carry out daily pre-operation inspections of crane and rigging equipment.
• Maintain accurate inspection logs and report any mechanical or safety concerns immediately.
• Follow load charts, lift plans, and manufacturer operating guidelines.
• Closely coordinate with riggers, signal persons, and site supervisors.
• Secure loads properly and ensure safe lifting practices at all times.
• Maintain clean and orderly equipment and work areas.
• Absorb general site duties when crane operation is not required.
• Comply with all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and project-specific safety plans.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3–5 years crane operating experience in construction or marine environments.
• Valid crane operator certification (NCCCO or equivalent) preferred or required based on crane type.
• Strong knowledge of load charts and safe rigging practices.
• Ability to perform daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance checks.
• Reliable attendance and ability to work extended hours as needed.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Valid driver’s license

Physical Requirements

• Ability to climb ladders and access crane cabs.
• Ability to sit for extended periods while operating equipment.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds when handling rigging or equipment.

Work Environment

• Outdoor construction sites
• Exposure to heavy equipment, noise, and varying weather conditions
