About the role
We are a company that has grown into a global presence with 10 manufacturing facilities, 19 commercial offices, and around 2000 employees serving customers in 40 countries. Our US office in Romeoville, IL has grown to over 70 employees, and we are opening our first stow manufacturing plant in the greater Atlanta area.
Responsibilities
- Receive production priorities and instructions from operators and supervisors
- Follow ERP instructions indicating which coil to place on which machine
- Position coils on machines
- Strap and remove coil remnants and record them in SAP
- Unload coil trucks
- Clear the slitting line output table
- Stack coils by type and supplier in designated locations
- Follow supervisor instructions to improve processes and prevent damage or complaints
- Adapt to changing work priorities
- Prepare, move, store, and unload materials within required timeframes
- Maintain cleanliness and organization
- Unpack coils and dispose of waste
- Comply with environmental standards
- Ensure quality and stability of coil stacking
- Follow and enforce safety rules
- Report all activities in end-of-shift documentation for performance tracking
- Support colleagues as needed
- Separate rejected/blocked coils from usable stock
- Participate in inventory and cycle counts
- Conduct 5S audits according to procedures
Requirements
- Knowledge of warehouse layout (coil locations)
- Product knowledge
- Warehouse operations knowledge
- Ability to use scanning systems
- Ability to operate a forklift (valid license required)
- Overhead crane certification
- SAP knowledge (transactions to track production by machine)
- Must be able to work 3rd Shift: 10pm-6:20am
