The primary role of this position is to provide service to our STS and RTG cranes. The goal is to reinforce the shop by keeping all equipment in service through periodical maintenance, issue reporting, and minimizing downtime during breakdowns.
Responsibilities
- Inspect tools and equipment to diagnose malfunctions or determine functional condition.
- Work safely to minimize hazards to yourself and others, including working from heights.
- Maintain equipment in accordance with maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and assist in diagnosing issues through prior component observation.
- Repair electrical and simple electronic malfunctions, as well as larger tasks involving the entire shop or subcontractors.
- Perform emergency repairs to return equipment to operation.
- Operate tools and equipment to diagnose malfunctions and verify proper operation.
- Clean and maintain tools, equipment, and work areas.
- Understand crane functions and communicate effectively with team members and operators.
Requirements
- 3-5 years of electrical and mechanical experience.
- Ability to follow all applicable safety standards, rules, laws, and procedures.
- Ability to acquire increasingly complex mechanical/computer skills for troubleshooting.
- Ability to record information accurately and properly.
- Ability to establish and maintain good working relations with coworkers and customers.
- Ability to acquire a TWIC card.
- Ability to lift and carry 50+ lbs when lift assistance is unavailable (e.g., forklifts and overhead lifts).
- Ability to work weekends and overtime as required.
