Craftsman-HVAC

About the role

Performs entry-level or craftsman-level work associated with heating, ventilating, and air conditioning systems, materials, equipment, and fixtures. Performs craftsman level work associated with refrigeration equipment including coolers, freezers, and related systems. FLSA status: Nonexempt.

Responsibilities

• Performs entry-level or craftsman-level work associated with heating, ventilating and air conditioning systems, materials, equipment, and fixtures.
• Responds to assigned work orders relating to HVAC; troubleshoots appropriate corrective measures and performs work to provide a solution.
• Assists in replacing faulty or defective HVAC equipment and systems.
• Prepares and maintains records, work logs, and reports, as needed.
• Adheres to WCPSS policies including laws, regulations, and requirements relating to workplace safety.
• Maintains compliance and adherence to all safety procedures, occupational health practices, and maintaining a safe work environment.
• Performs other related duties, as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in HVAC or related field.
• Must hold and maintain a valid motor vehicle operator’s license according to the State of NC requirements.
• Within twelve months of employment complete safety training according to OSHA standards.

Skills

• Working knowledge of HVAC systems, equipment and fixtures.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Word and Excel; Google Apps.
• Working knowledge of OSHA standards.
• Critical thinking and problem solving skills.
• Ability to communicate clearly and
