Essential Roles and Responsibilities
- Conduct daily site inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies
- Assist in developing and delivering safety training programs for craft personnel
- Promote a culture of safety by actively engaging with employees in discussions about safe work practices
- Document and report safety observations, incidents, and near misses, following up on corrective actions
- Work closely with the safety management team to update safety protocols and processes as needed
- Participate in safety meetings and share valuable insights to improve safety performance
- Support the implementation of job safety analyses (JSAs) and ensure they are maintained and followed
Requirements
- A high school diploma or equivalent
- An associate's degree in a related field is a plus
- 1-3 years of experience in a safety-related role within the construction or power delivery industry
- Familiarity with OSHA regulations and general construction safety practices
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage with craft personnel effectively
- Ability to identify hazards and provide practical solutions to promote a safe work environment
- CPR/First Aid certification preferred; must obtain within 60 days of hire if not already certified
- Ability to work flexible hours and travel to different job sites as needed
