Craft Recruiter - Primoris Heavy Civil - Louisiana

About the role

Responsible for full life-cycle recruitment of skilled craft personnel for heavy civil construction projects in Louisiana, ensuring timely and quality hires to support project needs.

Primoris Heavy Civil provides highway, port, airfield, rail and marine (intermodal transportation) construction services to private commercial and industrial clients as well as governmental entities such as the Department of Transportation and the US Army Corps of Engineers. Heavy Civil is comprised of six operating units that include North Louisiana Operations, South Louisiana Operations, Texas Operations, HMA Paving Operations, Concrete Paving Operations, and the Infrastructure Rehabilitation Unit.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement effective sourcing strategies to attract qualified craft professionals, including laborers, equipment operators, pipe layers, carpenters, welders, and other skilled trades.
• Utilize various recruitment channels such as job boards, social media, industry contacts, vocational schools, and community outreach programs.
• Conduct thorough screenings, interviews, and assessments to evaluate candidates' skills, experience, and cultural fit.
• Manage the applicant tracking system (ATS) to maintain accurate and up-to-date candidate records.
• Collaborate closely with project managers and superintendents to understand staffing requirements and project timelines.
• Facilitate pre-employment processes, including background checks, drug screenings, and new hire paperwork.
• Build and maintain a strong pipeline of qualified candidates for current and future project needs.
• Represent Primoris Heavy Civil at career fairs, industry events, and recruitment drives.
• Negotiate offers and extend employment to successful candidates.
• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies.
