CPV Technician - Level I

About the role

This role is to support BE-7 Engines Value Streams. You will carry out kitting, post processing, precision cleaning, inspection, packaging, preparation of aerospace hardware and other duties using specialized equipment and procedures to ensure cleanliness and readiness of flight and non-flight systems.

Responsibilities

  • Perform general and precision cleaning, passivation, and inspection of aerospace hardware using solvent/chemical, mechanical, ultrasonic, and other precision cleaning methods.
  • Set up, calibrate, and conduct preventative maintenance on a wide range of cleaning and lab equipment (e.g., pumps, filtration units, tanks, scales).
  • Safely handle and move large or sensitive hardware using overhead cranes, hoists, and lifting equipment.
  • Inspect hardware with visual, UV light, borescope, microscopic particle count, and high-precision weighing methods to ensure compliance with cleanliness standards.
  • Operate precision measurement and calibration tools including torque wrenches, micrometers, calipers, laser trackers, height gauges, and optical instruments.
  • Analyze and adjust fluid and solvent systems using titration and other laboratory methods.
  • Packaging, prepare, and document hardware and supplies for storage or shipment.
  • Maintain shop and clean areas in accordance with 5S organizational and cleanliness standards.
  • Adhere to safety regulations and use of proper personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Accurately document cleaning, calibration, test, and inspection results, and communicate with engineering, production, and quality teams.
  • Collaborate with team members and cross-functional groups to ensure production goals and cleanliness standards are met.

Requirements

  • Experience Levels with precision cleaning (0-3 years Level I)
  • Experience working on fluid systems with applied chemistry fundamentals.
  • Ability to set up, calibrate, and perform preventative maintenance on production and clean equipment.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs and work at heights (stands, ladders, lifts) and/or in confined spaces.
  • Proficiency with a range of hand tools and precision measurement devices.
  • Proficiency in digital tools, including Windows and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Pass visual acuity test required for cleaning (20/20 vision or corrected to 20/20 vision).

Qualifications

  • Industry certification, trade school training, and/or degree in a related field.
  • Additional experience in aerospace manufacturing or clean room operations.
  • Leverage of Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma certification.
  • Willingness and ability to work overtime, as required.
  • Demonstrated continuous improvement mindset and high attention to detail.
