Your Role and Responsibilities

The selected candidate will evolve within a multidisciplinary team composed of engineers, research professionals, and technicians whose mission is to develop and bring to production optical and optoelectronic components for various applications. They will participate in the development and implementation of innovative solutions in the field of silicon photonics aimed at pushing current technological limits for optical interconnects. A part of the work will be done in collaboration with IBM Research. This opportunity will allow the candidate to evolve at the C2MI Micro Innovation Collaboration Center in Bromont, in an environment at the forefront of technology, with an agile project management approach.

Preferred Education

• Bachelor's Degree Required
• Baccalaureate, Master's degree, or Doctorate in Physics, Physical Engineering, or a related field in photonics and its applications

Technical and Professional Expertise

• Knowledge or interest in assembling photonic and optoelectronic components
• Ability to work in a development and production laboratory
• Capacity to effectively evolve within a multidisciplinary team
• Excellent communication skills, including technical documentation writing and presenting results to different audiences (internal, partners, conferences), in French and English

Preferred Technical and Professional Experience

• Experience in an industrial environment or technology transfer, including industrialization or production activities
• Knowledge in materials science and associated characterization techniques
• Experience in photonic circuit design
• Experience in microfabrication or related technologies (CMOS, MEMS, photonics)
