CPHS Pharmacy Adjunct Faculty Spanish Elective
Position Summary
The Adjunct Faculty member will serve in the Department of Pharmacy Practice within the College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences, providing instruction in the Spanish for Pharmacists elective course for students enrolled in the Doctor of Pharmacy program. This elective is designed to enhance student pharmacists' ability to communicate effectively with Spanish-speaking patients by developing practical language skills for patient education, medication counseling, and culturally responsive pharmacy care. Through interactive learning activities, students will build confidence in using Spanish to promote the safe and effective use of medications.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Develop and implement curriculum, inclusive of learning objectives
Develop and manage course materials including learning objectives
Select and administer tests, assignments and other exercises that permit measurement of performance relative to the course learning objectives
Post grades on the Blackboard Grade Center and well as Campbell’s Self Service portal
Maintain timely communications with students and staff at all times
Interact with students in a positive manner, listen effectively, field questions pertaining to subject matter
Assess participation and performance of students within the classroom
Evaluate student work on out of class assignments
Administer exams according to university guidelines
Complete student record keeping in a timely and accurate manner
Education/Experience
Doctor of Pharmacy or BS in Pharmacy and Fluent in Spanish
Relevant post-graduate experience
Prior experience teaching or precepting student pharmacists
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
Communicate effectively to all groups through both oral and written channels
Maintain strict confidentiality and attention to detail are essential
Demonstrate tact, a positive attitude, courtesy and discretion in dealing with trustees, faculty, staff, students, high-level university officials and the public
Work independently as well as function effectively in a team and within a diverse group of people
Broad knowledge of Campbell University policies and procedures, including, but not limited to; Title IX, HIPAA, and FERPA guidelines.
