Responsibilities

  • Create digital recordings of court proceedings and operate multimedia equipment.
  • Perform real-time data entry, maintain session logs, and prepare/process documents, forms, and orders.
  • Mark and process exhibits, swear in witnesses and jurors, and oversee jurors during deliberations.
  • Host remote court sessions using Cisco Webex (phone or video).
  • Clerk sessions at off-site locations such as jails and medical facilities.
  • Provide administrative support: schedule hearings, prepare cases for the next day’s calendar, and maintain court logs.
  • Review and prepare copies of CDs, return exhibits, and accept electronic filings.
  • Scan documents, verify image quality, and enter them into the electronic case management system.
  • Respond to inquiries about court cases, calendars, and processes from judges, staff, attorneys, litigants, agencies, and the public (in person, by phone, or in writing).
  • Tasks may change to accommodate workload and organizational needs.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least three (3) years of responsible experience in a moderately complex office or business setting involving financial, administrative, or legal document processing.
  • OR any combination of education and experience equivalent to three (3) years that supports the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Skills and Attributes

Pay

$4,765 – $7,392 per month. New hires are offered up to the third step of the salary range, depending on experience.

Schedule

Full-time, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Overtime compensation is available for hours worked beyond 40 per week. Occasional early-morning, after-hours, or overtime work may be required.

Working Conditions

  • Daily data entry, multitasking, and handling confidential documents.
  • Daily in-person contact with the public, including parties in civil, family, and criminal cases, and victims of crimes or domestic abuse.
  • Frequent phone and in-person interactions with diverse individuals, including those facing trauma, stress, or hostility.
  • Long periods of sitting or standing while working at a computer.
  • Lifting loads up to 40 pounds may be required.
  • Regular use of digital recording equipment, video conferencing technology, telephones, computers with multiple monitors, copiers, fax machines, and scanners.
  • Must start CJIS clearance process within the first week of hire.
