About the role

Walden Security is recruiting experienced Court Security Officers (CSOs) to provide armed security to courthouses under the USMS contract.

Responsibilities

• Perform entrance control: enforce entry and identification system, operate security screening equipment to detect weapons, contraband, prohibited items, check handbags, briefcases, computers, packages, baby carriages, wheelchairs, etc.
• Perform roving patrol: patrol court facilities and grounds per post orders.
• Perform stationary post assignments: stand guard monitoring CCTV, duress alarm systems, other security equipment, courtrooms, judge chambers, jury rooms.
• Perform escort duties: provide armed escort for judges, court personnel, jurors, and other designated individuals when directed.
• Perform garage parking and pedestrian control: direct traffic and control lights on court facility properties per post orders/SOPs.
• Enforce law and order: enforce federal law, detain persons attempting unauthorized access to government property or court proceedings, or committing acts that imperil safety/security.
• Prepare reports and records: document contract performance issues such as labor hours, accidents, fire, bomb threats, unusual incidents, unlawful acts within court facility area.
• Court attendance: secure unattended courtrooms, inspect courtrooms before proceedings, test security devices, other security-related duties.
• Preserve order: provide security presence in courtroom, enforce federal law and judicial orders, enforce local court rules on prohibited items, protect court proceedings as needed.

Requirements

• Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or GED; at least three (3) calendar years of verifiable experience as a certified law enforcement officer or military equivalency (Master-at-Arms, CGPD, Security Forces Specialist, etc.), all within the last seven (7) years, including general arrest authority.
• Language Skills: Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English; ability to understand, explain, interpret, and apply rules, regulations, directives, and procedures.
• Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Valid driver's license from state of residency with safe driving record for past five years; clearance from Department of Justice; completion of certified Federal, state, county, local, or military law enforcement training academy and ability to provide certification proof.
• Other Qualifications: Minimum age 21; ability to pass pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check.
